When Olivia was a little girl, she held on tight to her Daddy’s rock and roll records. She made her own mix tapes with Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, and Guns N’ Roses songs, and danced to it in her room. She listened to her Walkman with the volume turned all the way up, despite her mother’s requests to turn it down. Her curious nature has sufficiently developed her artistry and rounded out the woman she is today. A worshipper of rock music, and a lover of live performance, it is no wonder that little girl from a southern Californian family, turned into a multi-talented, provocative, and sultry burlesque rock goddess.
“I have always loved music, my whole life. And I really love the way my body feels moving to it. I love the drama of choreography to the theatrics and the costuming. I am enthralled with the surrealism of Jodorowsky films, and I love dramatic transitions in Pink Floyd or Manson songs.”
Olivia worked in the music entertainment field while attending California State University, Fullerton, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis in Entertainment. Olivia’s first performance gig was as a go-go dancer in a nightclub in Costa Mesa. She eventually moved to LA, and discovered new lifestyles and culture, further evolving herself as an artist.
“I believe in feeling and being in touch with what is happening mentally when you perform to a piece of music. Listening completely, and truly becoming one with a song is a needle and a vein. I live for that inspiration.”
She got involved in burlesque after her friend and performer, Polly Peabody, asked her to perform in a show in Victorville. This led to a European tour with the show, Kubrilesque, or a burlesque parody of all twelve Kubrick films. Olivia has performed individually in clubs and art galleries in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, and Boston. She is also a part of Courtney Cruz’s Devil’s Playground burlesque group. Her first show with them was in the highly successful Star Warz Burlesque as Slave Leia.
Olivia’s numbers range from fast-paced rock and roll, fetish styled, artistically metaphorical performance art, and sensual and sexy dance. And, at 5 foot 10 without heels…Olivia is all legs on stage.
Olivia currently resides in Los Angeles.
